Responsible Printing

At Norse Commercial Services, we are always looking for cleaner and greener ways of working – improving our environmental credentials and helping to safeguard the planet in the process.

We are committed to working with our partners, suppliers, service providers and stakeholders in promoting and achieving sustainable development of the environment. Our environmental policies operate to ISO 14001 and environmental factors are included in decision-making. We have careful control over the specification of products and materials, the selection of sub-contractors and the management and handling of waste.

The Norse Environmental Management System incorporates an ‘aspects register’ that includes the controls for mitigation, reduction and management of environmental issues and their resulting impacts from all areas of the business within the ISO14001 scope.
A key requirement of the ISO 14001 standard is to “continually improve”, implemented at Norse through a “Plan, Do, Check and Act” cycle. Four of our most important objectives under this requirement are to:

  • Reduce the emissions of CO2 from buildings by 3% based on 2013/14 data
  • Increase recycling, re-use and recovery rate from 64% to 66% based on 2013/14 data
  • Reduction of the use of paper by 10% based on 2013/14 data
  • Raise environmental awareness amongst our staff, through sustainability surveys being carried out on a rolling programme

Our Environmental and Quality Standards

Are proud to be accredited by ISO9001 and ISO14001 plus we are looking to achieve ISO18001 this coming year. All of our paper used is FSC accredited and we use a fullcycle paper system through Antalis paper. We use vegetable based inks, all our chemicals are reduced by chemical less plate system and we hold training and toolbox talks every month.
